The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), the leading association for professional actors in Nigeria's film sector, has revealed its intentions to establish a multi-functional creative hub dubbed the ‘Nollywood Centre’ in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, the outgoing National President of the AGN, shared details during the inauguration ceremony of the guild's new National Executive Council (NEC), led by Abubakar Yakubu as the new National President.

Rollas, whose second term concluded in December 2025, officially handed over responsibilities to Yakubu during the event.

To strengthen its operational framework and national outreach, the guild opened its national office in the FCT in June 2025.

Rollas stated, “To ensure long-term institutional stability, we made significant strategic moves. We secured a high-value property in Abuja, trading a lesser governmental allocation for a more advantageous asset.”

He further revealed, “The guild now owns a N300 million property in Katampe, designated for the establishment of an advanced Nollywood Centre, with projected development costs around N1.3 billion.”

He called on private sector stakeholders to collaborate in realizing this vision.

The former president noted, “Our administration also established a remarkable national headquarters in Abuja, making us the first AGN leadership to achieve this, thus granting the guild a permanent stature within the nation's governance framework.”

On the international front, Rollas highlighted the expansion of programs throughout the USA, UK, Europe, and Africa, fostering greater exposure, collaboration, and opportunities for guild members.

Expressing confidence in his successor's ability to lead effectively, Rollas remarked on Yakubu's dedication, experience, and professionalism.

He urged the new president and his team to prioritize the welfare of members, enhance training initiatives, and invest in programs that directly promote their professional growth and guild unity.

Rollas assured continued support for the guild's mission to cultivate a progressive and dynamic Nollywood.

As he concluded his term, he emphasized, “I urge you to actively participate; join meetings, engage in programs, and invest your resources according to your means. A thriving guild requires the commitment of its members, not just its leaders.”

In closing, he extended his loyalty and support to the incoming president, underscoring that leadership is a collaborative effort rather than a competition.
