Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has expressed strong criticism towards the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing a lack of capacity to address the country's pervasive insecurity issues.

Speaking at the opening of the ADC's second National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, Mark told party leaders and NEC members that Nigeria is currently grappling with significant security challenges, including widespread kidnapping and banditry. He asserted that the APC-led administration has demonstrated an inability to effectively combat these problems.

"Our party, the ADC, must rise to the occasion to address these ills. We are prepared to do things differently and make Nigeria a better and safer society," Mark declared.

He commended the dedication, loyalty, and sacrifices of the party's leaders, noting that their commitment, even during difficult periods, strengthens the belief in the ADC as a credible choice for national leadership.

Mark emphasized the importance of leaders prioritizing collective interests over personal ambitions to foster a strong, disciplined, and people-focused party. He stressed that internal unity, respect for party structures, and adherence to democratic principles should serve as their guiding principles.

In related news, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, informed journalists after the NEC meeting that significant decisions were made. These included the endorsement of reports from the Committee on Policy and Manifesto, and the Constitutional Review Committee, both of which will be presented to the National Convention.

Abdullahi also confirmed that the NEC upheld the scheduled dates for the party's national convention and congresses. Ward and polling unit congresses are set for April 7th, followed by local government congresses on April 9th, state congresses on April 11th, and the National Convention on April 14th.
