As the 2027 presidential elections draw near, former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi has expressed that the current administration under President Tinubu is fearful of opposition party members.

In a recent conversation with journalists, Amaechi, who has indicated his intention to run for the presidency in 2027, stated that the ruling APC is now in a state of alarm, causing them to act hastily and distract Nigerians.

He remarked that during his tenure as Minister of Transport under President Buhari, he implemented several projects that are currently benefiting Nigerians, while the present government has nothing to showcase except for 'stealing money.'

"I thought the President claimed they were popular. What they are doing now are emergency measures out of fear. If they aren’t scared, let’s meet on the field and allow the people to decide who they prefer. They are attempting to impose politicians on the populace.

If you’re considering voting for the APC, ask yourself what they have accomplished. The much-talked-about Lagos-Calabar coastal road – where is it? When I was Minister of Transport, I can provide proof of my achievements. The Itakpe-Warri train is operational. The Lagos-Ibadan railway is in use. The Kano-Kaduna line was under construction before we departed, and the Kaduna- Abuja train service was established. These are projects we initiated under Buhari, including the Lekki deep sea port.

Let this administration demonstrate one tangible achievement in either the north or south, apart from the act of stealing money," he emphasized.
