Anambra APC Establishes 230-Member Committee to Drive Tinubu's 2027 Re-election

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a 230-member Presidential Campaign Council to support President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. The committee is led by state party chairman Emma Anosike and includes prominent political figures from the region.

In preparation for the upcoming electoral cycle, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has inaugurated a comprehensive 230-person Presidential Campaign Council dedicated to securing victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Led by the state party chairman, Senator Emma Anosike, the newly formed committee features several heavyweights from the region. Notable figures on the roster include former Minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige, former Senators Margery Okadigbo, Uche Ekwunife, and Joy Emordi, alongside Chief Azuka Okwuosa and the party's Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Barrister Emeka Okafor.

What does this council mean for party unity in Anambra State?

The unveiling of the extensive campaign team effectively dismisses prior speculations suggesting that former Senator Chris Ngige was detached from grassroots structures backing the president's second-term ambition. Furthermore, the announcement solidifies the return of former National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) managing director and former governorship hopeful George Moghalu to the fold of the ruling party.

During the announcement made in Awka on a Saturday, Anosike detailed that the massive committee has been distributed into specialized branches, covering areas such as patronships, strategic advisory, and media operations. He emphasized that the robust membership scale was a deliberate strategy to guarantee total involvement from all regional stakeholders.

“We are deliberate about the size of the Presidential Campaign Council and this is aimed at making sure that all hands are on deck in the re-election of our President,” Anosike stated, highlighting ongoing infrastructural developments in the area.

Why is the Anambra APC backing Governor Hope Uzodimma?

Aside from mobilizing support for the presidency, the state chapter officially endorsed the senatorial aspiration of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for the Imo West Senatorial District. Party leadership noted that Uzodimma's administrative track record would significantly benefit the National Assembly.

“We have no doubt in our minds that the candidacy of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for the Imo West Senatorial District will make a great impact on the people, and, being a ranking Senator, his wealth of experience would be brought to bear at the hallowed chambers,” Anosike concluded.
