The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has named a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi, to lead its Anambra State campaign council as coordinator in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
According to an official release endorsed by the party’s State Director of Media and Publicity, Dr. Tony Onyima, the newly formed campaign committee also incorporates prominent federal legislators such as Senator Victor Umeh representing Anambra Central and Senator Tony Nwoye representing Anambra North, alongside Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, who serves as the party's senatorial flagbearer for Anambra South.
Who are the other key directors appointed to the council?
The leadership structure features several specialized directorates managed by notable personalities. Emeka Kissinger Osisi takes charge as the State Director of Youth Mobilisation, while Barr. Ogechukwu Ekweozor oversees women mobilization. Additionally, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Celestine Okoye leads the security directorate, and retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Innocent Ndubueze Anene heads election monitoring and vote safeguarding.
Further appointments include Chief Egwuoba Okika Innocent as Deputy State Coordinator, former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ikem Uzoezie as State Chairman, and Barr. Paulinus Akabogu Izuchukwu as the campaign secretary. Senatorial district coordinators comprise Hon. Kingsley Nwafor for Anambra South, Hon. Chuka Ezenwunne for Anambra Central, and Hon. Chigbo Enwezor for Anambra North. Membership also extends to all current federal and state parliamentarians elected under the NDC banner.

The organization functions through multiple operational directorates spanning media and publicity, finance, logistics, security, grassroots mobilization, digital media, protocol, research, and special assignments. Onyima retains his role as media director supported by Paschal Azubuike, while Hon. Lady Azuka Enemuo and Mrs. Chika Ezeali manage financial operations.
To ensure extensive grassroots reach, local government coordinators have been designated across all 21 areas of the state. The inauguration ceremony for the Anambra State NDC campaign organization is slated for Wednesday, November 4, in Awka.
