This declaration was made during the inauguration of the Bauchi State office of the NEDC and the commissioning of mega schools built by the Commission in Dungal village, located in the Bauchi Local Government Area.

He highlighted that the construction of a mega school, among several others, reflects the Commission's dedication to ensuring that all children, regardless of their socio-economic status, have access to quality education.

“I believe this initiative is grounded in the understanding that education is the foundation for any society's advancement. A society that neglects education jeopardizes its growth and development,” he noted.

The governor expressed gratitude to the NEDC for undertaking such vital projects throughout the North East geopolitical region, assuring the Minister, the board, and management of the state government's unwavering support and partnership in realizing the Commission's commendable objectives.

Governor Mohammed remarked that the NEDC's initiatives have augmented the state government's efforts in expediting the development of critical economic sectors.

In related remarks, NEDC's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Goni Alkali, revealed that three mega schools are currently under construction in each geopolitical zone of the state.

He described each of these mega schools as comprising an administrative block, twelve classrooms, two hostels with a 100-bed capacity each, two three-bedroom staff quarters, and eight two-bedroom staff accommodations.

Additionally, the facilities will feature an ICT center with a 50-student capacity, a library accommodating 130 students, a laboratory, a perimeter security fence with a gate, and water supply resources.
