Neo Akpofure, known from Big Brother Naija, has announced plans for legal recourse against a woman who alleged that he sexually assaulted her. This accusation surfaced on February 17 through her X social media account.
The individual, identified as @notralia, claimed that she and Neo had a casual sexual relationship during their time at the University of Calabar. She stated that they had agreed to a friends-with-benefits arrangement, with the understanding that both would remain single. According to her, upon discovering that Neo was in a relationship, she confronted him at his residence, which she alleges led to the incident of rape.
In a legal notice dated February 18, 2026, from the law firm E.L. Akpofure, San & Co., the legal representatives claimed that the user Ms. Arikan Udoka had put forth defamatory statements against their client.
The attorney's office vehemently refuted the accusations, labeling them as "entirely false, malicious, and defamatory," asserting that the allegations had tarnished Neo's reputation and subjected him to public disgrace.
“The allegations wrongfully depict our client as a sexual criminal, resulting in severe reputational harm and emotional distress,” the correspondence read.
The legal team demanded that the accused delete her post and any associated content, issue a clear retraction, and publish an apology confirming the allegations are false. They also sought a written promise that no further defamatory remarks would occur.
The firm warned that if their demands were not met within 48 hours, they would pursue legal proceedings, including a civil lawsuit for defamation as outlined by Nigerian law.
