After more than 40 years of camaraderie, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have established a relationship where they can tease one another about their imperfections.
During a recent episode of the Today show, Affleck, age 53, lightheartedly referred to Damon, 55, as someone who isn't particularly tidy around the house.
Damon quickly denied this claim, arguing that it refers to his younger self. "Hey! That was when I was younger," he insisted.
Affleck laughed in response, saying, "That's all I have to go by. We could always ask your wife to see if it's improved."
Damon then pointed out his own frustration concerning his longtime friend—Affleck’s tendency to arrive late.
"We came here this morning, and Ben was three minutes early," said Damon. "He actually arrived before me, which is unprecedented in our 45-year friendship—he's never been on time."
Affleck quickly refuted the claim, exclaiming, "Oh my God, that's a complete myth. I'm busy with work; I have other commitments."
This playful banter follows Damon sharing a personal story about his wife, Luciana Barroso, on The Howard Stern Show, where he disclosed that Barroso had a crush on Affleck prior to their marriage.
Damon recounted, "I met her best friend from high school, and it surfaced that both of them had seen Good Will Hunting together. Her best friend thought I was the attractive one, whereas Luciana believed Ben was the charming one."
With a lighthearted jab, Damon jokingly told his wife, "You picked the wrong one."
Since then, Barroso has collaborated closely with both actors on their film The Rip, with Damon describing her as "an outstanding producer and a wonderful friend."
