A businesswoman is currently in custody after being accused of fatally stabbing her salesgirl in a fit of rage.

Ibekwe Ezinne Mary, 30 years old, is said to have attacked Ihechidere Favour Uka, her 17-year-old employee.

According to information provided by the victim's family, the tragic event took place on Tuesday, January 27, in Lagos State. Destiny Nnasco, the brother of the deceased, stated that the altercation began when Ezinne slapped Favour twice, prompting the teenager to retaliate. The situation intensified, leading to the fatal stabbing of the young girl.

Destiny Nnasco took to Facebook to share the disturbing details of the incident, writing: "On Tuesday, 27/01/2026 at approximately 6:30 PM, this woman on my screen, Ibekwe Ezinne Mary, aged 30, murdered my younger sister, Ihechidere Favour Uka, aged 17."

He continued, "My sister worked as a salesgirl in their cosmetics shop located in Lagos State, Nigeria. The motive behind her killing was revealed in police statements. Ezinne confessed that she had instructed Favour to fetch an item from the shop but was upset when Favour delayed in returning. Upon her arrival, Ezinne slapped her twice, and in response, Favour slapped back. Angered by this, Ezinne then stabbed her with a kitchen knife in the chest, resulting in fatal injuries."
