Chain Reactions Africa has received another major accolade for its innovative communication strategies, notably at the SABRE Africa Awards, which took place in Johannesburg. This acknowledgment underscores the effectiveness of its campaign titled "From Reforms to Recovery," designed to articulate the government’s reform initiatives during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second anniversary in office.
The campaign, which was developed in collaboration with the Presidential Media and Communications Team, expertly simplified complex reform policies into more relatable narratives. As a result, it has not only garnered attention within Nigeria's corporate landscape but has also drawn praise from international financial bodies including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.
At the SABRE Africa Awards, the Tinubu administration's reform agenda was celebrated for its continental impact, showcasing the critical work by Chain Reactions Africa in communicating the achievements of the government’s aggressive economic reforms. The firm, a leading consultancy in public relations and communications, emerged victorious in the Public Sector and Government category, surpassing renowned global agencies such as Weber Shandwick.
In addition to its public sector accolades, the firm also earned a Gold Award in the Travel & Leisure category for its efforts in promoting the Lagos Shopping Festival, highlighting its continuing excellence in the field of public relations and reputation management.
Furthermore, Chain Reactions Africa took home awards in the Technology category for its campaign spotlighting the T2 brand launch for Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Limited (formerly known as 9mobile), triumphing over formidable competitors from other renowned agencies such as South Africa’s ByDesign and other global communication leaders.
Paul Holmes, founder of PRovoke Media, noted the record number of submissions this year, indicating the heightened competition and the impressive quality of entries. He acknowledged the rigorous judging process that accompanied the awards.
Responding to the recognition, Israel Jaiye Opayemi, founder and chief strategist of Chain Reactions Africa, expressed pride in this achievement for Nigeria on the world stage. He dedicated the award to President Tinubu for his forward-thinking reforms and to the Presidential Media and Communications Team, whose collaborative efforts contributed to the campaign’s success.
Reflecting on the company’s growth, Opayemi recounted his experience at the SABRE Awards in Miami back in 2014 when he envisioned placing both his organization and Nigeria on a global communication platform. Since securing its first SABRE Award in 2016, the firm has maintained a reputation for excellence in the public relations domain.
He also highlighted the pivotal support of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu towards the Lagos Shopping Festival, emphasizing its growing international prominence as a hub for both retail and cultural experiences.
The SABRE Africa Awards, held in partnership with the Public Relations and Communications Association this year, celebrated remarkable accomplishments in branding while drawing over 500 submissions and more than 120 campaigns shortlisted, marking it as one of the most competitive editions ever.
With multiple awards achieved in 2026, Chain Reactions Africa upholds a remarkable track record among Nigerian public relations firms, receiving seven SABRE Awards in 2024, four in 2025, and three this year, thereby consolidating its influence and recognition both across Africa and beyond.
