Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to exit Saudi Arabia due to a hamstring injury, amidst rising tensions in the Middle East.

Questions surrounding the 41-year-old's location arose after his £61 million private jet departed the country late Monday night. However, it was later established that he remained in Saudi Arabia, having been seen with his teammates.

The former Manchester United forward is dealing with a serious hamstring injury sustained during Al-Nassr's 3-1 victory over Al-Fayha on Saturday, now heightened concerns with the World Cup approaching.

'Following examinations, we have determined that Cristiano Ronaldo's injury is more severe than initially anticipated,' revealed Al-Nassr manager Jorge Jesus on Friday. 'He will travel to Spain for treatment, similar to other players who have sought care when injured.'

'His injury necessitates treatment in Madrid with his personal therapist, and we hope for his swift return to support the team.'

Riyadh, where Ronaldo resides with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children, is currently experiencing heightened threats as Iran retaliates against the recent series of attacks by the US and Israel that commenced over the weekend.

On Monday night, the US embassy in the Saudi capital was targeted by two drones, with Iranian state media reporting the destruction of a command and staff building in Bahrain.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia confirmed on Friday that it had intercepted three drones to the east of Riyadh amid ongoing Iranian attacks throughout the Gulf region.
