A delegation from the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has arrived in Bauchi State to carry out an appraisal of current and potential infrastructure initiatives across the region.

The team, headed by Mrs. Maïmouna Sidibe, was welcomed by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed at the Government House in Bauchi.

This visit follows a strategic meeting that the governor held at the EBID Headquarters located in Lomé, Togo, on November 13, 2025. It represents a continuation of the discussions started during that visit and is an essential step in the financing process of the identified development projects.

As part of the appraisal, the delegation inspected significant infrastructure projects including the Wunti and Central Market Flyover in Bauchi's urban area, in addition to other critical road and infrastructural projects throughout the state.

The purpose of this mission is to review the progress of implementation, assess the scope of the projects, and ensure their alignment with the financing structure of the bank.

In welcoming the team, Governor Bala Mohammed reiterated his administration's dedication to principles of transparency, accountability, and responsible resource management.

He emphasized that the projects currently under scrutiny are designed to enhance urban mobility, boost commercial activities, and develop vital infrastructure across the state.

Mrs. Sidibe, the head of the delegation, clarified that this appraisal undertaking is a routine part of EBID's due diligence process, which allows both sides to evaluate technical, financial, and operational factors before proceeding to the next phase of collaboration.
