Enugu Government Issues Stern Warning Against Land Grabbing at Mechanic Village Site

The Enugu State Government has issued a stern warning to any individuals or organizations involved in the marketing or sale of land within the designated area for the Enugu Mechanic Village located at Akegbe Ugwu. The government has characterized these activities as clear illegalities and acts of trespass.

Furthermore, the state administration has indicated it will pursue legal action against trespassers and anyone participating in development or transactions on the land, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

This directive was communicated in a statement released by the Commissioner for Trade, Investment, and Industry, Sam-Ogbu Nwobodo. The statement explicitly addresses land parcels within the Umuetugbuoma community in Akegbe Ugwu, Nkanu West Local Government Area, which have been allocated for the proposed Mechanic Village.

The government has become aware of certain entities presenting themselves as estate developers and engaging in the sale of land at this site. This is being deemed a direct trespass and an illegal operation.

To be unequivocal, the Enugu State Government hereby declares that any attempt to trespass, interfere with, or engage in any form of development or transaction concerning land within the proposed Mechanic Village site is unlawful and will face prosecution.

The site in question has been designated by the government for a crucial project intended to improve the state's infrastructure and provide necessary services.

The public is strongly advised to refrain from dealing with any individuals or entities claiming authority to sell or allocate land within this site. All land transactions should be verified through official government channels.
