A new Nigerian film titled 'EVI' is set to grace the big screens soon, aiming to deliver an emotionally-driven narrative. Written and directed by Uyoyou Adia, this production emerges from a collaboration of Judith Audu Productions, Switch Visuals Productions, Signet Rings Productions, and NOI Productions.

At the heart of 'EVI' is the character Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented artist whose skills are overshadowed by her arrogance. As she ascends the charts in the music realm, her life takes a downturn when her record label collapses, stripping away her past successes. The luxurious lifestyle gives way to less glamorous gigs and a job as a waitress, forcing her to start anew.

Her story intertwines with Kola Adeloye, a former talent manager whose life is taking a bleak turn due to alcohol and gambling issues. Their initial struggle for survival evolves into a deeper bond, compelling both characters to reevaluate their weaknesses, life choices, and the meaning of loyalty. When Evi's career begins to regain momentum, the stability of their partnership is severely tested.

Osas Okonyon stars as Evi, with a supporting cast that includes Uzor Arukwe, Omowunmi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman, Waje Iruobe, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Femi Branch.

Reflecting on her debut in a full-length film, Okonyon remarked:

"My journey into 'EVI' has been a life-altering experience. Evi’s narrative serves as a poignant reminder that talent constitutes just a fraction of success—humility and the choice of those we surround ourselves with matter just as much. It's an honor to initiate my career with a character brimming with depth and a captivating redemption arc."

Producer Judith Audu shared her insights on the film, describing 'EVI' as an exploration of pride, loyalty, and the resilience required to rebuild after facing significant setbacks.

"Partnering with organizations like CCHUB, Africa No Filter, and the Gates Foundation, which resonate with our mission of instigating social change and personal growth, has been immensely gratifying. 'EVI' narrates a vital story about assisting individuals in facing their challenges and discovering their authentic selves along the way."

The film is scheduled for release in cinemas across Nigeria on March 27 and is supported by CCHUB in collaboration with Africa No Filter, with additional backing from the Gates Foundation.

Expect a teaser of the film to be available soon, along with a glimpse of stills from 'EVI.'
