Ibitoye Kingfahd, widely recognized as FaddotheGreat, has left an indelible mark in history by being acknowledged as a Guinness World Record holder. Following an arduous 50-hour non-stop magic performance at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, he obliterated a record that had persisted for over two decades, performing an astonishing array of more than 1,200 distinct tricks.
This remarkable feat, which took place from November 27 to 29, 2025, was characterized by a diverse embodiment of card tricks, mentalism, and elaborate stage illusions. Adhering to the stringent rules set out by Guinness, FaddotheGreat was required to showcase new tricks without repetition within four-hour intervals, turning the event into a true test of endurance and creativity.
Prior to this record-setting milestone, the title had been held by Richard Smith from the UK, whose performance lasting 30 hours and 45 minutes had remained unbeaten since 2004. FaddotheGreat not only claimed the title; he elevated the standard significantly.
For Ibitoye, achieving this record transcended personal glory. He has frequently addressed the prevalent misconceptions about magic in Nigeria and broader Africa, emphasizing that the art form is often mischaracterized, which hampers its visibility and development. His endeavor to secure a Guinness World Record was calculated — aimed at challenging these perceptions and re- establishing magic as a sophisticated and skillful craft. By showcasing his talents on such a prestigious platform, he sought to affirm the rightful place of magic on the global stage.
Achieving this milestone necessitated extensive preparation. FaddotheGreat, who holds an engineering degree from Adeleke University in Osun State, dedicated over a year to designing his props and developing the stamina needed for the marathon performance. Following the official confirmation of his record, he took to Instagram to celebrate the accomplishment with images of himself holding his Guinness World Record certificate. He described the recognition as a proof of faith and the vast potential within Nigeria, stating, "This is evidence that God is good. This victory isn’t solely mine; it represents the entire nation and the infinite possibilities we possess within ourselves."
