A fire outbreak on Monday resulted in the destruction of 34 classrooms at an Animal Health School in the Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
As reported by ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, the incident took place around 2:53 PM.
The fire service received an emergency call from a person named Jamilu Abubakar, who informed them of the fire outbreak at the school premises. Subsequently, firefighters from the Rijiyar Zaki Fire Station were quickly dispatched to the location.
Upon their arrival, firefighters found a ground-floor building measuring approximately 500 by 500 feet, identified as the Animal Health School, fully engulfed in flames, indicated the statement.
It was noted that 16 classrooms suffered severe damage while 18 additional classrooms were partially affected by the fire.
Fortunately, the blaze was successfully controlled, preventing further spread to other classrooms and offices within the premises.
The statement also highlighted that firefighters deployed one truck from the Rijiyar Zaki Fire Station to manage the situation, emphasizing that their prompt response played a crucial role in limiting the damage.
No injuries or fatalities were reported at the time this article was prepared, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
