He further disclosed that police operatives are currently pursuing the suspected ringleader and other members of the group who have fled.

On March 11, 2026, at approximately 12:00 PM, the police received an emergency call from the Seplat Energy Company's Security Control Room. The report indicated that a group of youths, allegedly headed by a man named James Eshiet, had vandalized the company's signpost and were trying to forcibly access the facility to damage other essential infrastructures.

Following his directive, police operatives were promptly dispatched to the location.

Upon their arrival, the officers found that the company's signage had already been knocked down and destroyed. The group, estimated to be around 25 members, aggressively resisted arrest and tried to obstruct police operations, according to the Commissioner.

Azare expressed strong disapproval of the vandalism and intimidation aimed at corporate entities operating within the state, emphasizing that no individual or group is authorized to resort to violence or vandalism.

He urged youth organizations and the public to express their grievances through legal avenues instead of resorting to illegal acts.

Additionally, he warned that anyone found involved in vandalism, violence, or sabotage would face arrest and prosecution as per the law.
