An official statement revealed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Notably, the crash was not attributed to either hostile or friendly fire.

Another aircraft was involved in the operation and managed to land safely following the event.

The identities of the fallen servicemembers are being withheld by the US military until 24 hours after their families have been informed.

In a declaration made by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iran- supported militant groups, it was asserted that they were responsible for the downing of the aircraft, which they stated was an action taken in defense of their nation's sovereignty and airspace.
