A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed, who is also known as Bala Kelly, has switched allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.
The representative for Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency revealed his transition to the APC during a meeting with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at the Gombe State Liaison Office in Abuja.
In a statement shared by the governor’s spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Hon. El-Rasheed formally presented his APC membership card, which he had acquired from his ward in the Dukku Local Government Area as part of the ongoing e-registration and revalidation process.
The lawmaker cited Governor Yahaya’s progressive leadership and the impactful development initiatives occurring across Gombe State as pivotal factors behind his decision to join the APC. He also emphasized the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a motivating influence.
Bala Kelly expressed confidence that the APC is well-equipped to foster sustainable growth and enhance governance, affirming his unwavering loyalty and dedication to the party and Governor Yahaya's administration.
In welcoming Hon. El-Rasheed to the APC family, Governor Yahaya praised him for his boldness and commitment. He assured him of equitable treatment within the party and encouraged him to collaborate with other party members to advance the APC's developmental objectives for the benefit of his constituents, the state of Gombe, and Nigeria in general.
