"It requires a collective effort to nurture a child... We cannot afford to remain inactive and expect progress in our country if we do not address the foundational issues," he remarked.

Gbajabiamila emphasized the necessity for a communal approach to tackle the challenges, urging collaboration from parents, educators, religious figures, communities, and relevant institutions. He pointed out that moral rectitude is essential in resolving social issues encountered in schools and universities.

He assured the committee of the Federal Government's willingness to partner with them, including mobilizing assistance from corporate entities through their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts and examining budget allocations available for this initiative.

In a show of commitment, Gbajabiamila announced a ₦50 million initial grant to support the committee's efforts, which will be disbursed in two phases, starting with ₦25 million.

Professor Ugokwe, during the meeting, acknowledged the opportunity for dialogue and described the project as a systematic presidential effort designed to tackle cult activities, substance abuse, exam fraud, cybercrime, and other related issues within educational institutions.

He elaborated that the committee's objectives include encouraging discipline and accountable leadership, organizing educational campaigns, and proposing policies to improve student welfare, campus safety, and academic standards.

Since its inception, the committee has engaged in outreach activities in Edo and Kwara States as part of its nationwide initiative and called for logistical assistance for a forthcoming national launch at the State House Conference Hall.

Additionally, Comrade Sunday Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, pointed out the urgency of the committee's mission, referencing incidents of drug abuse among students as pressing concerns.
