Governor Uba Sani is expected to outdo his past achievements with the upcoming completion of the 36-kilometer Bagoma-Gagumi road project located in the Birnin Gwari local government area. This new project is anticipated to eclipse the Gadan Gayan-Gwaraji-Kujama road, which was inaugurated in February.

Dr. Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), made this statement during an inspection visit to the project site.

He lauded the governor’s efforts towards rural development, describing them as transformative.

Dr. Baba Ahmed reminded attendees that the governor had previously launched the longest road project constructed in two decades, spanning three local government areas, this past February.

The new 35-kilometer road, which connects Igabi to Kajuru and Chikun local governments, features a 130-meter bridge over the Kaduna River, serving multiple rural communities along the way.

During the recent inspection of the Bagoma-Gagumi road, the KADRA director revealed that when completed, this road will benefit 66 agricultural communities within the Birnin Gwari local government.

"This road will provide essential links for farmers to reach markets and for residents to access schools and healthcare services, thereby significantly enhancing the local economy," he emphasized.

Dr. Baba Ahmed stressed that Birnin Gwari is a major maize-producing area, and the new road will facilitate better transport of crops, ultimately driving economic development.

He noted that the 66 farming communities will gain improved access to markets, educational institutions, and health services, which would foster job creation.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the Bagoma-Gagumi road is part of Governor Uba Sani’s extensive plan to construct 1,345 kilometers of roads across 20 local government areas. To date, the governor has inaugurated 150 projects and completed 66.

The road is currently being developed by CGC Nigeria Limited, a prominent construction firm specializing in infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and water supply systems.

Dr. Baba Ahmed indicated that while the project is projected to wrap up by the end of the year, the contractor has assured the state government that they will finish ahead of schedule.

Mr. Wang Hongxi, the CGC Northern Regional Manager, stated, "We have enhanced our workforce and are committed to working continually to ensure the project is completed on time."

Residents of the Bagoma and Gagumi communities have expressed optimism that the new road will significantly improve their living standards and create economic opportunities.

"The road, which has been in poor condition for years, is being upgraded to a modern highway, facilitating easier transportation and stimulating economic activities in the region," said one local.

Alhaji Musa Bagoma, a community member, expressed his gratitude towards Governor Uba Sani for his dedication to enhancing the local infrastructure.

A local trader, Alhaji Dangajere Gagumi, remarked, "This road will transform our lives by making it easier to transport our goods to the market and allowing our children to go to school without the fear of treacherous paths."

Mallam Ibrahim Mande also affirmed the commitment of Uba Sani's administration to improving the living conditions of rural dwellers, calling the road project a testament to this commitment and expressing gratitude for the governor's efforts.
