Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sanctioned a new set of appointments and promotions designed to bolster governance and improve service delivery in essential state sectors.
This information was conveyed in a statement released on Wednesday by the governor's spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
One notable appointment includes Hon. Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi (Alhajiji), who has been designated as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs within the Governor's Office.
Previously, he held the position of Senior Special Assistant on Protocol I to the governor.
Additionally, the governor has appointed Hajia Aisha Tamburawa as the Special Adviser on Positive Propaganda. Before this role, she was a Supervisory Councillor in the Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area (LGA).
In the water sector, Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf was elevated to Managing Director of the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA), having formerly served as the agency's Deputy Managing Director. Zakari Usman Balan has been appointed as the new Deputy Managing Director of WRECA.
Furthermore, Governor Yusuf has approved the appointment of Dr. Mukhtar Bello Maisudan as the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board. Dr. Maisudan is a senior lecturer at Bayero University, Kano.
Similarly, Engr. Abba Kankarofi has ascended to the position of Managing Director of the Kano Road and Maintenance Agency (KARMA), from his prior role as Deputy Managing Director.
In another significant appointment, Hon. Musayyib Kawu Ungoggo has been named Managing Director of the Kano Zoological Garden. He has previously held various political roles, including as a councillor and Senior Special Reporter.
Governor Yusuf tasked the newly appointed and promoted officials with justifying the confidence placed in them through dedication, transparency, and commitment to the citizens of Kano State.
He reiterated that his administration is focused on fortifying institutions and providing governance that prioritizes the people, aligning with the goals of the Kano First Agenda.
