Igor Tudor has finalized an agreement to take on the role of interim coach for Tottenham Hotspur until the season concludes, following the recent dismissal of Thomas Frank.
The former centre-back for Croatia and Juventus has emerged as the frontrunner for the position as Spurs evaluated various candidates.
Tudor is expected to commence training sessions with the squad at the start of the week, with his debut match in charge scheduled to be the north London derby against Arsenal next Sunday.
One of Tudor's main tasks will be to ensure that Spurs maintain their position in the Premier League after Frank was let go with the club sitting at 16th in the standings, merely five points above the relegation zone.
A verbal agreement is in place for Tudor to assume the role until the season's end, with only minor details of the contract pending. He plans to return to Croatia from London before officially starting.
Spurs intend to appoint a permanent replacement for Frank during the summer, following his release on Wednesday, which came after a home defeat to Newcastle the day prior.
Tudor, who typically favors a three-at-the-back strategy, takes over a Spurs team that has struggled recently, winning only two of their last 17 league matches.
The 47-year-old has been without a club since being dismissed by Juventus in October and has previously managed teams like Lazio, Marseille, Galatasaray, and Udinese.
