Tensions heightened when the wife purportedly came across compromising texts on his phone, which further exacerbated the conflict.

Family members, including the sister of the deceased, intervened at one point to mediate and calm the situation down temporarily.

However, the peace was short-lived, as tensions reignited the following morning, culminating in a fresh confrontation within their home.

During this renewed dispute, the situation allegedly turned violent, resulting in a physical altercation between the couple.

It was reported that James's phone was broken during the fight, prompting him to retaliate by destroying his wife's phone.

The confrontation tragically reached a fatal conclusion when the wife allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and fatally stabbed James.

Following the incident, he reportedly collapsed and was later pronounced dead at the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia.

Community sources shared that the wife attempted to escape the scene with her children but was thwarted as angry locals gathered, some reportedly trying to confront her before she was rescued.
