Jealous Co-Wife Allegedly Poisons Woman to Death in Gombe

A deeply unsettling occurrence has gripped the community of Gombe city, where a woman named Fauziyya has reportedly died after being poisoned by her co- wife.

The incident transpired in the Riyal Anti Kalare area within the Gombe metropolis, leaving the local residents in shock.

According to a community member, Ismail Abubakar Maisalati, the act appears to have been fueled by jealousy regarding their shared husband.

The accused is said to have contaminated the victim’s meal with a toxic substance referred to locally as “Gidigam.”

Unaware of the malicious intentions, Fauziyya consumed the poisoned food.

Witness reports and sentiments from community members indicate that there had been ongoing tensions between the two wives, largely due to competition for their husband’s love and attention.

Maisalati added that the death of the young woman has left her family, including her husband and children, mourning and struggling to cope with her absence.

Community members have been offering prayers for the departed, with many demanding justice and urging local authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
