The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has revealed plans for a specialized dietary program designed for pilgrims who have diabetes in anticipation of the 2026 Hajj. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the health and welfare of all participants during their sacred pilgrimage.
During a visit to the medical screening facility at Dutse General Hospital, Ahmad Umar Labbo, the Board's Director General, noted that providing personalized nutritional support is essential for ensuring a safe and medically sound journey for individuals dealing with chronic health conditions.
He highlighted that the meal plans specifically created for diabetic pilgrims are aimed at regulating blood sugar levels effectively. Additionally, he stated that Jigawa State continues to lead in pilgrim welfare by offering three meals daily, a provision that distinguishes its delegation.
"The well-being and health of our pilgrims are our top priorities," asserted Labbo. "We are dedicated to equipping our pilgrims with the necessary support to fulfill their spiritual obligations in good health."
Labbo also expressed gratitude to the Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, for his prompt endorsement of the initiative and for his unwavering support in improving the welfare of pilgrims.
