The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, has expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Farouk Adamu-Aliyu, a former Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, who has been instrumental in initiating various economic development projects in his home town, Birnin Kudu.

During a ceremony on Monday to unveil a newly established Microfinance Bank and a Multi-purpose Shopping Plaza, Governor Namadi characterized the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader as a "patriotic individual" dedicated to advancing the welfare of his community.

He noted that these investments are a significant boost to the local economy and fit seamlessly with his administration's 12-Point Agenda focused on creating jobs, alleviating poverty, and enhancing economic growth.

"Hon Farouk Adamu Aliyu exemplifies a leader who gives back positively to society," Namadi remarked, referencing the Malam Alu Integrated Farm, which was inaugurated by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020 and serves as a model for modern farming techniques in Nigeria.

The Governor elaborated that through diverse policies initiated by his government, over 400,000 individuals have received training, supportive resources, and direct job opportunities over the past two years.

The newly inaugurated Alkali Adamu Aliyu Complex is set to serve as a versatile commercial center, featuring a Microfinance Bank aimed at providing financial services to those without bank access, as well as a pharmacy, restaurant, shopping areas, and a mosque.

Namadi urged the management of these new facilities to conduct their operations with integrity and accountability, emphasizing the importance of serving residents effectively.

The event saw the attendance of notable figures from the region, including Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya, whose representation lauded the project as a demonstration of national commitment. He highlighted that these investments extend beyond financial gain, offering vital access to essential services for rural residents.

Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari also commended Aliyu's initiative, suggesting that other affluent individuals should emulate his example. He remarked that Aliyu could have chosen to establish lucrative centers in larger cities like Abuja or Kano but instead opted to invest in his hometown, showcasing his dedication to his community’s interests.

Concluding the event, Mr. Adamu-Aliyu expressed gratitude to the Governor and attendees, reaffirming his resolve to invest in local economic projects that would benefit future generations and facilitate accessible commodities at reasonable prices within the community.
