Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi formally swore in Khadi Umar Namadi as the state's new Acting Grand Khadi during a ceremony held at the Government House in Dutse. The event took place on Friday, shortly after the governor returned from Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the lesser Hajj alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at the swearing-in event, Governor Namadi stated that the elevation of the Acting Grand Khadi was a product of his proven integrity, commendable track record, and extensive service to the administration of Sharia law within Jigawa State. The governor portrayed the newly sworn-in judicial head as a dependable and modest personality whose dedication justified the high office.
What did the governor advise the new appointee?
Drawing attention to the solemnity of the oath of office, the governor emphasized that the duties associated with the position are firmly anchored in Islamic jurisprudence. "You have just taken the oath of office. I don't need to remind you of its gravity because you know the responsibilities according to the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)," Governor Namadi remarked.
In addition to spiritual adherence, the state chief executive encouraged the Acting Grand Khadi to foster collaboration, exhibit strong leadership, and enhance the overall efficiency of the Sharia court system across the state. He concluded the ceremony with a prayer asking Almighty Allah to grant the new judicial leader the wisdom and guidance needed to succeed in his assignment.
