Dutse, Jan. 29, 2026 (NAN) – The Jigawa state administration has sanctioned a budget of N2.6 billion for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage in 2026.
During a press briefing following the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held in Dutse, Mr. Sagir Musa, the state's Commissioner for Information, announced this development.
Musa pointed out that the approval aims to enhance the transportation and general welfare of pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.
The allocated funds will cover essential elements of the Hajj operation, such as air travel, accommodations, food services, medical care, orientation programs, and various logistical needs.
“This financial support is intended to guarantee a seamless and successful pilgrimage experience for all participants from the state,” he remarked.
The Commissioner further reiterated the government's dedication to facilitating a smooth Hajj process in accordance with the regulations set forth by Saudi authorities, pledging transparency and accountability throughout the operations.
He also noted the directive for relevant agencies to collaborate effectively, allowing pilgrims to fulfill their religious obligations without difficulties.
