Joeboy stated that he believes Tyla rightfully earned her win.

Although he personally hoped for Davido to take the prize, Joeboy insisted that Tyla's achievements should not be overlooked.

“Personally, I was rooting for Davido to win the Best African Music Performance category at the 2026 Grammys, but you can’t take it away from Tyla,” he remarked.

“She is an amazing artist whether people accept it or not. She truly put in the effort.”

Furthermore, Joeboy mentioned that while individuals have the right to feel upset, it is important to acknowledge that Tyla merited the recognition she received.
