The management of Kaduna Polytechnic has announced the commencement of an inquiry into an event where some students from its College of Business and Management Studies (CBMS) were reportedly barred from attending classes for purported breaches of the institution's dress code.

The polytechnic confirmed it had observed a widely circulated video on social media depicting members of its Dress Code Committee preventing students from entering lecture halls.

This development was communicated in a formal statement released by Godwin B. Ayegba, the Deputy Registrar for Information and Protocol, on behalf of the polytechnic's administration.

The statement indicated that the attire worn by the students featured in the video appeared to be modest and suitable, suggesting they should not have been prevented from accessing their scheduled lectures.

The institution reiterated its commitment to a dress code policy aimed at fostering decency and professionalism on campus. However, it emphasized that the implementation of this policy must adhere strictly to established guidelines.

Furthermore, the polytechnic stressed that the committee tasked with enforcing the dress code policy is expected to ensure its actions are not overly stringent or excessive.

According to the management, an investigation has been promptly initiated to ascertain the precise details of the incident and to identify any potential shortcomings in the application of the policy.

The institution has assured its student body that appropriate measures will be implemented to address the situation and to prevent any similar occurrences in the future.
