Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-membership registration and revalidation exercise at his designated polling unit in Radda Ward, Charanchi Local Government Area. Governor Radda highlighted the exercise as a crucial element in fortifying the party's internal democracy, unity, and overall organizational capabilities.

According to Governor Radda, this nationwide digital registration and revalidation initiative by the APC aims to update and verify its membership records, thereby promoting transparency and ensuring that every member is accurately documented and recognized within the party's framework.

Speaking at his polling unit, the governor underscored that his presence was not in his capacity as the State Governor but as a regular and proud member of the APC, intending to exemplify equality, discipline, and adherence to party procedures.

"I am here today not as the Governor, but as a committed party member. This demonstrates clearly that within the APC, all members are treated equally according to the party's constitution and rules," he stated.

Governor Radda further commented that the e-registration and revalidation process would serve to strengthen internal democracy, fostering a sense of belonging and full political rights for every member.

"This exercise clearly indicates that once you are properly registered and revalidated, you are eligible to vie for any position, ranging from councilor to member of the House of Assembly, local government chairman, Governor, and even the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria," he remarked.

He urged all APC members throughout Katsina State who still possess only older membership cards to visit their respective polling units and complete the digital registration and revalidation process.

"I appeal to all our members, from the ward level up to the state level, to actively participate in the registration and revalidation. This process ensures your recognition and secures your future political engagement within the party," the Governor advised.

Governor Radda emphasized that polling unit heads, ward executives, and local government party leaders must assume full responsibility for grassroots mobilization efforts.

"Every polling unit needs to take ownership of this task. Our party's strength should be reflected in our membership numbers, and we must ensure no member is left behind," he declared.

Additionally, the governor called upon Local Government Chairmen, councillors, and the three APC Zonal Chairmen in the state to intensify their mobilization activities within their respective areas.

"I expect all our elected officials and party leaders to return to their constituents and mobilize them extensively, so that Katsina can achieve one of the highest numbers of digitally registered and revalidated APC members nationwide," he urged.

He also directed the State Chairman and the entire State Executive Committee to provide robust leadership and effective coordination throughout the duration of the exercise.

"The success of this registration hinges on strong organization and supervision. I anticipate that the State Executive Committee will ensure the process is seamless, credible, and comprehensive across all wards," Governor Radda added. He noted that the exercise is scheduled to continue until the end of January, assuring that sufficient time remains for all members to be registered.

"There is still time, but we should not delay until the last moment. I encourage all members who have not yet registered and revalidated to do so promptly," he advised.

Describing Katsina as a traditional stronghold of the APC, Mr. Radda stated that the party's unity, popularity, and acceptance at the grassroots level must be accurately reflected in a comprehensive digital membership database.

"Katsina has consistently been a stronghold for the APC. Our substantial support base needs to be properly documented through this digital registration to clearly showcase our true strength at the national level," he asserted.

He also urged all political officeholders, including heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as parastatals, to participate fully in the exercise.

"Every appointee must return to their polling unit and register and revalidate. Leading by example is paramount, and we must all demonstrate loyalty and commitment to our great party," the governor concluded.

He further pointed out the necessity of having a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) for the digital registration process.

"In the current societal landscape, particularly in the North-West, possessing a NIN is no longer optional. It is fundamental for governance, accessing opportunities, and full participation in national development," he observed.

Earlier, the APC Council Chairman, Ibrahim Sani, represented by his Vice, Aminu Hassan, expressed that the people of Radda District and the entire Charanchi Local Government Area were proud of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his leadership. He encouraged residents to proceed to their wards and polling units to register and revalidate their party membership.

Similarly, the State Coordinator for the APC E-Registration and Revalidation Exercise stated that the exercise would span two weeks, after which the registration portal would be closed until after the party primaries.

He affirmed that the APC remains the most dominant party in Katsina State and that a significant turnout would further attest to this strength, noting that six personnel have been assigned to each polling unit to conduct the exercise.

Attendees included the APC State Chairman, Hon Sani J B Daura; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Shamsu Sule, along with ward and polling unit executives, party members, community leaders, and supporters.
