The Lagos Division of the Federal High Court is set to embrace a digital approach. Effective April 27, 2026, all new case submissions will be required to be filed electronically.

Manual submissions will be terminated on April 24, allowing for a transition to the e-filing system. Cases that have already been submitted prior to this change will continue under the existing manual protocol until they reach a judgment.

As outlined in an official statement, a penalty of ₦10,000 will be imposed for any false claims or misrepresentation of documents per filing, in addition to any outstanding fees owed.

To utilize the new digital platform, attorneys must establish a Legal Mail account. Additionally, law firms are mandated to upload their Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration documentation. While documents related to oaths will be submitted through the e-Affidavit portal, deponents will still need to attend in person before a Commissioner for Oaths.
