Man Arrested for Allegedly Abusing 13-Year-Old Girl in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended Osita James, a 32-year-old man, on allegations of defiling a 13-year-old girl in the Ile-Oluji/Oke Igbo Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the command's spokesperson, made the announcement in a statement released on Monday, February 9, 2026, stating that the suspect had reportedly abused the minor on multiple occasions.

According to Jimoh, law enforcement officials swiftly arrested James and rescued the young victim on February 5, following a report lodged by an individual named Uchenna.

The police spokesperson revealed that during preliminary investigations, James admitted to the crime and is expected to face charges in court after the inquiry is complete.

In a statement, Jimoh remarked, "The Ondo State Police Command, under the strategic leadership of CP Adebowale Lawal Psc(+), mnips, announces the arrest of a suspect regarding an alleged case of defilement in Ile-Oluji."

The statement continued, "On February 5, 2026, a report was filed at the police station by Uchenna that earlier that day, around 1600hrs, a 13-year-old girl (name withheld) was allegedly sexually abused by Osita James in the Asio area of Ile-Oluji."

"Upon receiving the report, the victim was immediately rescued and underwent a medical examination. The suspect was apprehended instantaneously, where he reportedly provided significant information and confessed to the act."

"During the investigation, the victim indicated that James had previously committed similar offenses against her prior to the incident. He will face legal proceedings upon completion of the investigation."

The command emphasized that this arrest is part of a broader effort aligned with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
