A young man whose identity remains unknown was killed by a mob on the morning of March 4, in Ogun State, after he allegedly obstructed traffic along the FMC–OSAMCA segment of the Idi-Aba–Kemta–OGTV road in Abeokuta.

According to eyewitness accounts, the individual, armed with large metal objects in both hands, stopped one lane of the four-lane roadway around 10:20 a.m., causing a standstill for motorists and threatening anyone attempting to pass by. This action resulted in a traffic jam that persisted for approximately 30 minutes, leaving drivers and pedestrians anxious for their safety.

Reports indicate that distress calls were made to the Kemta Division of the Nigeria Police Force requesting assistance. However, before police officers could arrive, a group of young people in the vicinity allegedly gathered and confronted the man, attacking him repeatedly with wooden sticks.

When the authorities finally made it to the scene, the man was reportedly incapacitated and lying unconscious on the ground. Despite the presence of law enforcement, members of the crowd continued to beat him even after he was moved off the road to alleviate the traffic blockage.
