A man identified as Jean-Pierre Francis has received a prison sentence for a decade-long campaign of secretly recording multiple women in their private spaces across England. The surveillance occurred in their homes and workplaces.
Francis concealed his surveillance devices in common objects, including pens, flash drives, electrical outlets, and soap bottles.
The investigation was initiated in May 2024 after a woman discovered a hidden camera in her bedroom. Investigations by the Northamptonshire Police led investigators to identify Francis, aged 33, as the perpetrator.
An analysis of Francis's seized devices revealed hundreds of videos and images captured using discreet cameras between 2015 and 2025. These cameras were ingeniously hidden within various items, such as a camera pen, USB drives, power adapters, and even a shower gel bottle.
Authorities confirmed that Francis targeted six women, all within the age range of 20 to 60 years old.
He faced six charges of voyeurism and pleaded guilty to these offenses on March 13. On April 17, he was sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment.
In addition to his custodial sentence, a court order mandates the destruction of all devices used in the commission of these crimes. Francis has also been issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.
Lead investigator Detective Constable Georgia Sampson stated that Francis engaged in sustained and deeply invasive offending, exploiting everyday technology to violate the privacy of his victims in places where they should have felt most secure.
Detective Constable Sampson further described the investigation as complex and highly technical, involving the meticulous examination of numerous devices that uncovered a decade of offending and revealed the full extent of his actions.
