Manchester United’s head coach, Michael Carrick, has been recognized as the Premier League Manager of the Month for January due to his remarkable start in the leadership role.
Carrick took over from Ruben Amorim in the middle of January, guiding the team to key victories against the league leaders, starting with a 2-0 triumph over Manchester City in the Manchester Derby, followed by a 3-2 win against Arsenal, marking their first defeat at home this season under Mikel Arteta.
Since taking charge, he has maintained an unbeaten streak, adding wins against Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, and securing a draw against West Ham United on Tuesday.
In Carrick's words, “It’s nice and it shows that we’ve had a very good start, you know, but let’s be honest, it’s not just about me really.”
He emphasized the collective effort, stating, “I think it’s about everyone, you know: it’s about the staff, the coaching staff, the backroom staff, the players definitely. It shows that we've had a good start, which is very pleasing.”
Carrick triumphed in the public vote over competitors including Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, Liam Rosenior from Chelsea, and Nottingham Forest's Sean Dyche, who has recently left his position at The City Ground.
