Troops from Operation Safe Haven have apprehended a person suspected of being an ammunition courier for terrorists, recovering a total of 100 rounds of ammunition in the Kuka area of Plateau State.
This operation occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. on March 15, 2026, executed by members of Operation Safe Haven functioning within Sector 9, Sub-Sector 91, during a targeted intelligence operation.
Reports indicate that the suspect was caught with 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, which is believed to have been intended for a terrorist faction operating in and around the Wase Local Government Area and adjacent regions.
Initial investigations suggest that the apprehended individual is reportedly linked to the terrorist group.
It was also noted that the suspect bore a gunshot injury thought to have been incurred during an assault in Benue State in 2024.
Currently, the suspect and the seized ammunition are in custody as inquiries continue.
