Haruna Yahuza, an alleged motorcycle thief commonly referred to as 'Gwaska', was reportedly killed by an angry mob on Dafara-Gaube road in the Kuje Area Council of Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory.

Solomon Markus, a local resident, informed Daily Trust that the incident unfolded on Monday at approximately 8:12 PM after Yahuza allegedly snatched a motorcycle and tried to flee the scene.

Markus mentioned that Yahuza, along with an accomplice who remains unarrested, had reportedly blocked a road and stabbed the motorcycle owner before escaping with the stolen vehicle.

This violent act quickly attracted the attention of a gathering crowd.

According to Markus, the motorbike owner, who was left severely injured, was able to point out Yahuza as the main perpetrator.

He alerted nearby youths, who immediately gave chase to the fleeing suspect.

"Immediately after the suspect escaped with the motorcycle, the mob began pursuit and notified youths in the adjoining village, who ultimately managed to corner them," Markus stated.

He elaborated that while Yahuza's accomplice narrowly evaded capture by fleeing into the bushes when spotted by the mob, the crowd descended on Yahuza with blunt objects until he succumbed to his wounds.

Markus added that the injured motorcycle owner was rushed to a hospital in Kuje for medical attention, and the stolen motorcycle has since been retrieved.
