On Wednesday, the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan postponed the continuation of Mukaila Lamidi's trial, who is commonly called Auxiliary. The hearings have been rescheduled for March 4 and March 5.

The trial judge, O.A. Adetujoye, made the decision on Tuesday to adjourn the case involving armed robbery and murder allegations against Lamidi due to his claimed health issues.

Consequently, the judge requested the medical doctor from the Agodi Custodial Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service to present her testimony concerning Lamidi's health status.

Lamidi was the former head of the Oyo State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), which was disbanded by the Oyo State Government in favor of the Park Management System. After serving as the director of the Park Management System, he lost favor with the government, which subsequently accused him of murder, armed robbery, and other related crimes.

During the court proceedings, the attending physician, Adeyemi Babatunde, testified that Lamidi had been stable prior to his latest assessment, though he was brought back to the hospital after he reportedly slumped while waiting for his case to be mentioned.

Further evaluations were deemed necessary to determine the underlying cause of his condition. On Tuesday, due to Lamidi's absence attributed to his alleged ill health, proceedings were halted.

His defense attorney, Olalekan Ojo, who holds the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), informed the court that he had learned of Lamidi's sickness.

This prompted the judge to inquire whether the prosecution team, including Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions O.S. Tella, Senior State Counsel O.A. Bolarinwa, and prosecution team member F.F. Gbadamosi, were aware of the developments regarding Lamidi's health. Tella acknowledged that she was aware of the incident, which took place in open court.

On that particular day, Lamidi collapsed during the court session, creating a scene of panic among officials and law enforcement present.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported that Lamidi initially faced charges of murder and armed robbery in Eruwa, Ibarapa LGA, before the case was transferred to a court in Ibadan.
