David Abraham, the founder of the non-profit organization The Emerald Crew and the new husband of Mayowa Lambe, has commented on the ongoing public disagreement involving his wife and her estranged spouse, Roby Ekpo. PREMIUM TIMES previously reported on Ekpo's appearance on the "The Honest Bunch" podcast, where he discussed the breakdown of his marriage to Ms. Lambe.

During the podcast, Roby Ekpo alleged that Ms. Lambe left him for another man, despite his financial support for her while she was abroad over a period of six years. He also brought up marital issues, including intimacy, challenges in conceiving children, and claims of clandestine contraceptive use.

Abraham has now responded via a statement, which he reportedly shared on Instagram before later deleting it. He stated that his wife knows he owes no one any explanations regarding their personal matters. "The path to greatness leaves no room for weakness, only strength. The ones in my corner understand me. I don’t owe explanations, and that’s enough. Falsehood may travel fast, but truth arrives with consequences," he wrote.

Abraham also shared a cease-and-desist notice that Ms. Lambe had issued to her estranged husband. This newspaper had reported that Ms. Lambe, through Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, accused Mr. Ekpo of making defamatory statements and spreading false narratives about her publicly.

Ms. Lambe asserted that her marriage to Mr. Ekpo had ended and that his public statements had caused her significant reputational damage, leading to online harassment and public ridicule. She demanded N100 million in damages from Mr. Ekpo, warning of legal action if he failed to comply within 48 hours.

In the legal notice, Ms. Lambe indicated that she possessed substantial evidence, including proof of her financial contributions during their relationship, documented efforts to assist Mr. Ekpo with relocation and career advancement abroad, and medical records related to their joint efforts to conceive. The notice also cited communications, including social media exchanges and third-party correspondence, that contradicted Mr. Ekpo's public claims.

She further stated that despite interventions from family, mentors, and counselors regarding Mr. Ekpo's behavior and responsibilities, he proceeded to disseminate what she termed "false and damaging narratives." Ms. Lambe argued that these actions constituted serious defamation, resulting in emotional distress, damage to her reputation, and a loss of goodwill.
