The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has expressed its gratitude toward the Kaduna State Government, law enforcement agencies, and all participants involved in the successful rescue of the kidnapped individuals in Kurmin Wali.
In a statement authored by Chairman Barrister Baba Lawal Aliyu, the Association specifically commended Governor Uba Sani for his swift action during the crisis, which included a visit to the affected community shortly after the abduction.
The NBA remarked that while this development is cause for celebration, it is imperative to maintain and enhance security strategies to avert similar incidents in the future.
Furthermore, the Association called for ongoing medical and psychological support for the rescued individuals to facilitate their complete recovery and effective reintegration into society.
The statement underscored that the NBA is steadfast in its commitment to uphold the rule of law and to safeguard the lives and dignity of all citizens.
Governor Uba Sani welcomed the 183 released victims at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Thursday, assuring that the state is resolutely dedicated to their protection, rehabilitation, and the long-term safety of Kurmin Wali.
He indicated that the victims would be provided with temporary accommodation where they would receive extensive medical and psychosocial care before returning to their homes.
Additionally, the Governor pledged to improve infrastructure by constructing an access road to Kurmin Wali, as well as establishing a Primary Healthcare Centre and a Skills Acquisition Centre in the locality.
He affirmed his administration's commitment to collaborating with relevant stakeholders, community leaders, religious organizations, and security entities to foster lasting peace in Kurmin Wali and throughout Kaduna State.
