A Nigerian woman, identified as Confidence Maye Utomi, has publicly stated that she and her husband abstained from sexual relations prior to their wedding. She conveyed this message, along with a defiant stance towards skeptics, via a Facebook post.
In her statement shared on Friday, Utomi declared, “We got married and before being married, we didn’t defile the bed. F to those who said we couldn’t.” The post directly addresses and dismisses any suggestions that the couple would not uphold their commitment to abstinence before marriage.
She further elaborated on her stance, implicitly challenging societal perceptions and expectations regarding premarital intimacy, by asserting their success in remaining abstinent until their marital union.
