Peter Obi, a prominent figure vying for the presidency in the 2027 elections, has taken the lead in a demonstration at the National Assembly.
Joined by a large number of his supporters, which notably includes activist Aisha Yesufu, Obi is currently positioned at the entry point of the parliamentary premises.
The assembly of protesters is primarily focused on advocating for the endorsement of real-time electronic transmission of election results from polling stations as part of the proposed Electoral Amendment Bill.
Security personnel, mainly from the police force coupled with members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and other paramilitary organizations, have deployed their vehicles and stationed officers at critical points to maintain order during the protest.
Details will be provided as the situation develops.
