The Ogun State Government has announced its plan to build a ₦1 billion artificial intelligence-enabled digital classroom complex at Remo Secondary School (RSS) in Sagamu, reflecting the administration's push for tech-focused education in the state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun shared this development during the 80th anniversary festivities of the school, emphasizing that this state-of-the-art facility signifies substantial investment directed at preparing students for the challenges of the 21st-century knowledge economy.

According to the governor, this digital classroom is part of a larger initiative for smart learning within the school, which already features a resource center and a fully equipped robotics lab aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and high-level digital skills.

"To start our ongoing support for this institution, I am committing ₦100 million," the governor stated.

"I am also dedicated to releasing 50 percent of this promise — ₦50 million — next week. Moreover, I will ensure that during my term, at least one of the stated projects is commenced and completed," he added.

Abiodun also indicated that the state government has upgraded the school's science laboratories, bringing them to modern standards and outfitting them with advanced teaching instruments to establish secure and stimulating learning environments.

He further disclosed that both boys’ and girls’ hostels have undergone renovations to enhance students' comfort, safety, and overall well-being.

Noting the significance of Remo Secondary School as a legacy institution, Abiodun pointed out that the anniversary was not merely a celebration of years but an acknowledgment of an ongoing heritage.

"We are not celebrating just a school; we are honoring a living institution," he asserted.

He praised the alumni for their dedication to preserving the history of the school and investing in its growth, suggesting their efforts exemplified a shared commitment to sustaining excellence.

"These contributions are more than just investments; they symbolize our convictions about the future, a collective effort, and evidence of what can be achieved when goals are paired with dedication."

The governor remarked that RSS is not just an educational institution but a cultural landmark, supported and maintained by a community that values responsibility.

Recognizing RSS as one of the state’s flagship schools, Abiodun encouraged students to engage in learning enthusiastically, maintain integrity, and endeavor to uphold the high standards established by their predecessors.
