Ojulari Reflects on NNPCL's Transformative Path for 2025

Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, conveyed a message of stability and assurance through his New Year communication to employees.

Entitled ‘We achieved. We drive the future,’ this message was addressed to colleagues within the organization and reflected on a year characterized by noteworthy accomplishments.

Ojulari underscored the importance of 2025 as a pivotal phase in the transformation of NNPC Limited.

He stated, “Exploration and production reached an impressive 355,000 barrels of oil per day, marking the highest output since 1989.”

He elaborated, “We enhanced production with Madu First Oil, optimised the Soku Pipeline, and initiated the Akpo West Start-up, alongside the commissioning of the Gbaran Nodal Compression Train.”

Ojulari continued, “We achieved critical infrastructure goals with the launch of the ANOH-OB3 pipeline and successfully carried out the AKK River Niger crossing.”

Moreover, he said, “NNPC Retail expanded its presence in the West African region with our lubricant brand, Oleum.”

He mentioned, “We had the distinct honour of hosting the inaugural NNPC Group Earnings Call, during which we revealed our audited 2024 financial results.”

Furthermore, Ojulari remarked, “We enhanced employee welfare by implementing a significantly improved compensation package. This year, we welcomed 1,000 new talents into our workforce to deliberately cultivate the next generation of leaders at NNPC.”

He added, “Our Board demonstrated strong support for operational excellence by endorsing new frameworks for Delegation of Authority and Delegation of Financial Authority to increase efficiency and empower leadership across the organization.”

“Every one of these accomplishments is a testament to our workforce – your skills, judgements, and your faith in our organization’s potential. These milestones represent the collective achievement of us all, and each one of us should take pride in this progress. Your collaboration, ownership, and dedication across every division, asset, and office are the bedrock of our success,” he remarked.

Ojulari emphasized that this growth has significantly elevated Nigeria’s profile within global energy markets, bolstered by significant advancements in gas infrastructure that increased domestic energy supplies.

He pointed out the strategic success of expanding retail ventures into the West African market.

The GCEO further noted that the surge in energy output has beneficially impacted power, manufacturing, and job creation.

He stressed that disciplined execution remains an essential expectation of leadership.
