Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North in the Nigerian Senate and is a member of the Senate Committee on Finance, has lauded the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for its proactive reforms under the guidance of Mr. Olayemi Cardoso.

Reflecting on his past criticisms of the CBN’s management appointed by President Bola Tinubu, Oshiomhole praised the bank’s dedication to instilling long-term economic reforms.

The former governor of Edo State remarked, "I was among those who were very critical when you were first appointed, but today, I am one of your advocates."

He urged Cardoso to remain steadfast in implementing these measures and cautioned against letting political factors impede their effectiveness, emphasizing the necessity of sticking to sound economic principles.

During the session, Abdullahi highlighted the various reforms the bank has initiated, which have contributed to reducing both food and general inflation rates and ensuring stability in the exchange rate.

Oshiomhole reaffirmed the CBN's commitment to achieving single-digit inflation and commended the collaboration between fiscal and monetary authorities to foster economic stability and growth, which he identified as the central bank's primary goals.
