Ozonna Soludo, the son of the Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, felt compelled to amend his earlier social media post after he was criticized for seemingly trivializing the ongoing sit-at-home order observed in Nigeria's South East region every Monday.

On January 26, 2026, Governor Soludo had issued a directive for the closure of shops in Onitsha Main Market for a week due to traders' failure to open in defiance of the Monday sit-at-home order. This decision caused considerable uproar and drew attention in the news.

Ozonna Soludo updates his post after facing backlash over his comments regarding the sit-at-home order.

Shortly after his father's action garnered media coverage, Ozonna, who resides in the UK pursuing his music career, posted on Facebook, suggesting to his followers that he could create content to enhance their experience during the sit-at-home days. He stated: "Do you guys want dedicated Monday sit-at-home content to make your sit-at-home a little more vibey because that’s the best I can do?"

In light of the negative responses, Ozonna updated his post to express that he opposes any form of dictatorial governance and does not represent the government of Anambra State, emphasizing that individuals should not direct their anger towards him. He stated: "Update: I post and you all let me know what is happening but my stance is always the same. Even though a lot of times I agree with you, I am not ever in support of any kind of dictatorship or leaders who impose themselves on the people but my stance still remains.

"I am not an extension of the government, nor am I a mouthpiece or representative of the government. Hence, if you want to express your grievances in my comments, that's acceptable, but it still falls short of resolving the issues you're facing."
