On Thursday evening, residents of the Odo-Kekere Community located in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State were alarmed by the unexpected partial collapse of a building belonging to a local public school. Witnesses reported that a segment of the school structure gave way earlier that Thursday afternoon, specifically on January 15.
Emergency response teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area for safety.
Investigations were underway to determine the underlying reasons for the collapse and assess the extent of the damage. Preliminary findings indicated that no students were in the classrooms at the time of the incident.
