PDP Affirms Zoning Framework for Upcoming National Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the zoning arrangement will act as the guiding principle for its upcoming national convention, which is scheduled for March 29 and 30 in Abuja.

This announcement was made in a communiqué released following the party's 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja on Monday.

The communiqué was co-signed by Abdulrahman Mohammed, the chairman of the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC), and Samuel Anyanwu, the secretary.

During the meeting, the NEC emphasized the party's preparedness for the national convention themed "A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal."

The committee instructed all relevant bodies and committees to ensure effective coordination to guarantee a successful, credible, and transparent event.

Additionally, the NEC confirmed the zoning formula for national elective positions as adopted, in accordance with the party’s established principles of equity, fairness, inclusiveness, and national balance.

It also announced that the sale of nomination forms for the upcoming National Convention has started and encouraged prospective candidates to adhere to the guidelines and timelines provided by the party.

The NEC reiterated the party's authority and urged all members to maintain unity, discipline, and commitment to the party’s common goals.

Furthermore, the committee expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of various congresses across the country, including Ward, Local Government, State, and Zonal Congresses, and validated the reports from these congresses.

The party lauded the commitment and discipline demonstrated by its leaders, electoral committees, stakeholders, and members, which helped ensure peaceful, transparent, and credible congresses worldwide.

The NEC also reviewed the ongoing electronic registration of its members, expressing commendation for the progress made and reaffirming the commitment to develop a comprehensive, credible, and technology-based membership database. It urged all members nationwide to actively engage in this initiative.

The committee expressed confidence in the party's renewed strength, unity, and organizational capability, assuring both party members and the Nigerian populace that PDP is ready to provide effective leadership and national guidance.
